A Wholesome Discussion On Writing for Digital Media

Atif Tauqeer

Sir Atif Tauqeer discussed about what NEWS is, where does it originate from or made up and how we perceive and explain it to the world. There is a rule of 5Ws’s and 1H for dealing with the NEWS we find. In this modern era, we come across a lot of true or false information going on, on social media and other platforms.
The most important element of news missing on social media platforms is editorial. Editor sees credibility, language structure and double checks the information. In digital media sender spreads non credible news. Absence of editor gave rise to fake news. Ignorance plus propaganda both elements are there in digital media news. The spread of unauthentic pieces of information is due to ignorance.

Credible news doesn’t get viral as much as the fake news because it has more potential and spice than a normal credible news. We should acknowledge our responsibility to watch out and ensure the authenticity of the information. The worst of all is ratings and viewership on the base of which public come across never ending click bait news items every day. Astonishingly, sometimes well-educated, and intellectual people get driven by the spices added in the content and share fake news as well.

The point is to identify what kind of news you have and how to portray it to the world. The best way to get your news spread even more is to keep its duration for more than three minutes to fulfill the social media algorithm and less than 5 minutes to make more people read or watch it till the end.
Your news should be to the point and juicy, in other words, it should be interesting enough to attract the readers and get them to read it completely.
Language should be compact and having graphical elements, visuals. Your news article should be visually captivating enough to keep the reader indulged in the scene as if they are witnessing it with their own eyes.
The third point is to know who your audience is. Your language should not be hard, or confusingly bilingual enough to make the other person comprehend the information easily. Journalism is called “literature in hurry” therefore we need to make sure that your type of audience can digest it.

Later on he discussed about media dependency. Media depends a lot on big co operations. Now as it went on the hands of public to spread information, propaganda and framing plays its role. A lot of different conflicting news is found on a particular topic. The reason is that communities form that are run by some people either privately or paid and professional news generators.

When it comes to delivering facts and information publicly, the issue of freedom of speech comes up. The issue on which we can debate for as long as we can but it would not be resolved as we don’t have complete freedom of expression. There are some red lines like religious matters, some political issues and cultural values which should not be crossed. Staying in the boundary leads to successful deliverance without facing extreme controversies and dangerous consequences afterwards.

A tyrant, Hitler used political infighting and economic woes to strengthen his rein over Germany in the beginning of 1933. An autocratic leader of the Nazi party, Hitler had staunch anti-Semitism beliefs and an obsessive pursuit of Aryan supremacy. His warped belief system led to the genocide of 6 million Jews – a perspective that was evident in his self-authored book ‘Mein Kampf’. In the book, he declared the superiority of a white Aryan race, while he reserved his hatred for the Jews who he viewed as "parasites". The Nazis had a belief that Jews, Roma ('gypsies'), black people and other ethnic groups were inferior to Aryans. Their elimination, he said, "mu...

Genghis khan - Character Sketch

Genghis Khan -Muqadas Fatima https://muqadasfatima315.wixsite.com/website-1/post/character-sketch-non-fiction The sound of the drum beating pounded in his ears. His blurry vision could hardly make out the source of the commotion but soon realized that it was the shaman casting out the evil spirits. Suddenly a stinging smell of blood and raw meat burned the insides of his nostrils. As soon as he turned his face, what he saw was beyond his imagination. It was Genghis khan, the ruthless and vicious emperor and founder of the Mongolian Empire. Who would have known to be blood thirsty and tyrannical ruler for centuries? Tyranny reflected in his eyes. Even his eyes seemed like reptilian slits. His face was cold as ice as if the warmth of the sun had never reached it. While he stared into his soul, Genghis tore raw meat with his abnormally large canines. Blood oozing from it and eventually smeared all over his face. It became obvious, how ruthless the entire empire was. They had no reg...
